Our Statement
Introducing The Electric Lady, the first fully electric Jaguar E-type roadster rolls out of the Suffolk-based Tudor Black Coachworks workshop.
But this is not just another EV conversion built up of parts from other cars, this is a true one of one in many ways. It is part of a specifically designed with all components sourced new from the manufacturer with warranties in place, with repeat production in mind. The team at Tudor Black Coachworks are very proud of their achievement as it does not alter the integrity of the original construction of the car in any way and is, therefore, fully reversible. An essential factor for people passionate about restoration and preservation/originality.
The car becomes a unique art item with the collaboration between rock n roll hall of fame photographer Gered Mankowitz and Tudor Black Coachworks. It spans the boundaries of the automotive world and the art world. As a true one-of-one masterpiece
While art cars are not new to the world, the subtle links or coincidences highlighted by Electric Lady and Jimi Hendrix, create a fabulous and nostalgic/historic picture of past times and launch an electrifying new future.
Gered photographed Jimi Hendrix in the sixties. The swinging sixties saw the introduction of one of the most iconic motor cars in the world to roll off the British Jaguar production line.
Jimi’s last album before he died was called electric lady land. With the creation of the electric E type, now known as the Electric Lady, with the times as they are and the need to reduce co2 emissions to help save our environment, we believe we do not have to delete the past and our rich heritage.
Tudor Black Coachworks believe in the benefits of Restoration, Preservation, Conservation, Reclamation, adaptation, and modernisation.
We hope you agree that Electric Lady marvellously demonstrates this.
